Open User Map can be used in different ways! Do you want to create an interactive map (Type A) so that site visitors can add new markers themselves? Or do you just need a good looking map to show your own locations (Type B)? Don’t worry, you can change this later in the settings.
Type A: Interactive Map
Build a map based community! Your audience will be enabled to add new markers themselves. Then you will get noticed and approve each location before it gets published.
Step 1
Insert the block/widget Open User Map into a page using the WordPress Editor (Gutenberg) or Elementor.
… or use the Shortcode:
[open-user-map]
Save the page and have a look at the page in the front end. At first the map is probably empty. Now it is time to get first location suggestions from your website visitors. Everyone can add new location markers by clicking the “+” Button in the top right corner of your map.
Step 2
You can manage and approve all locations under Open User Map > All Locations in the WordPress Dashboard. Configure styles and features in Open User Map > Settings.
Type B: Simple Map
Choose this variant if you don’t want anyone else to propose new locations to your map.
Step 1
Insert the block/widget Open User Map into a page using the WordPress Editor (Gutenberg) or Elementor.
… or use the Shortcode:
[open-user-map]
Save the page and have a look at the page in the front end. The map will be empty at first.
Step 2
You can add your locations under Open User Map > Add new Location in the WordPress Dashboard. Configure styles and features in Open User Map > Settings.
